REDLINE

Genres: Action, Cars, Sci-Fi, Sports
Studios: Madhouse
Air Dates: Aug 14, 2009

Quote:In a universe full of aliens, only one racer can be the best. Only one can win the greatest race in the entire galaxy, the Redline. This year’s Redline will be especially dangerous, as it will take place on the planet Roboworld with its trigger-happy military and criminals who look to turn the race to their own advantage.

JP is one of the only humans who qualified to enter the Redline. Made popular by his refusal to put any weapons on his vehicle unlike most racers, he relies only on speed and his own unparalleled driving skills. At this race, JP runs into Sonoshee McLaren, a beautiful woman and the only other human that qualified for Redline. Amidst the dizzying speed and action of Redline, he will have to decide if she is just a rival, or something more.

Actually almost made a thread for this the other day lol. But tbh I actually found it to be an avg animated film. The artwork was fantastic, but the characters seemed a bit meh. A decent watch but not the best film either though.

Love the art and the soundtrack. Very original settings and universe. Good watch if you're looking for something different. Not a whole lot of substance but a good watch nonetheless.

I watched this last year after seeing a thread here saying it was something that absolutely had to be watched in 1080p. I was not disappointed.

Girlfriend showed this to me. The artwork is something to awe over- definitely never see stuff like this as often, if not anymore.

Fun fact - this show was animated by HAND, and it took seven years to do so. Seven whole years of drawing frames, yeesh. Glad they did though, the animation is very fluid and pretty.

It turned out to a good film so it had to have been worth it

I absolutely love this movie. The fact that it took seven years and was all hand drawn, like the Miyazaki films just blows my mind. Colors were amazing, sound was great, and the ending just gives me chills every time. There was also a pretty damn good AMV that got made from the movie.
