Should all sent Rep be removed if the user is Exiled? - SIM-2914476 - Aug 11, 2016
If the user gets banned (Exiled), Should all of the sent rep be removed (Both Positive and Negative)?
Love to know your guys opinions on this.
May or may not be because of my many rep's from stupid banned users ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

If I'm right exiled is temp closed is perm.
But perm ban rep should be removed tbh

Oh ok - I dont see much bans on here so I wouldnt really know.
But yeah like it makes more sense because lots of people have -rep and +rep from stupid users that eventually get banned for being stupid. People who got rep'd from the banned users shouldnt be penalized for it.

There was going to be a reputation purge but I believe Omniscient had changed his mind or just got caught up in something else as it was announced a while ago.
EDIT: I believe a perma-ban is just a pending closure or the account is under invenstigation, so rather removing exiled members' rep just get rid of the closed members' rep.

Exiled members? I don't agree with that because they will be back at some point (temp ban).
Closed members? Yes
I think what the reputation system is for is members to express their opinions of another member and if somebody is closed then their opinion on another member is meaningless and should not be taken seriously.
I do think at some point reputation from closed members will be purged, as for as I know Omni still plans to do that but just hasn't said anything recently.

You literally have 2 neg reps from banned users and the rest are from active users. Fuck off.
Just because somebody is banned does not necessarily mean their opinion and comments on you are invalid. Unless the rep itself violates policy, the rep should stay from anyone who had/has the permissions to do so.

If you were negged or given a positive by a closed member, it should stay.

Well I don't think this should be done, as to members who's scammed or whatever and someone leaves a reputation on someone then there account gets closed/exiled and the rep gets removed, would be so pointless.

negative reputation left by closed accounts was gonna be removed. I think that's what Omni said.

I think the rep should stay, but just not be counted (positive and negative alike). If a closed account has a reputation on you proving you scammed why should the system benefit people like that? Reputation is meant for opinions and obviously it isn't only used for that. Negatives are a clear community alert sometimes. Even on closed accounts.

I'm probably going to stay neutral, while there are reputations which hold value and could be of good use to other members, there are also reputations which hold no value and are completely useless (such as troll reputations).

The reputation purge from closed members will be happening after Omniscient upgrades the forum to MyBB version 1.8x. Whenever that happens, I don't know. Hopefully soon.

I was -3 by Magician for saying "Users account might be compromised DWC" ends up he was on a scamming spree I was -3 for saying that. Then he gets banned shortly after. Kinda stupid imo.
