Ban Information / Ban safety - Lelouch Vi Britannia - Aug 12, 2016

There are definitely new types bans, with new banning criteria about us. Whether they're permanent or not is not yet known.
The bans are fairly NEW, so a little time is needed to gather information regarding their duration, criteria, and bypasses.

FOR ALL WE KNOW THESE CAN JUST BE SERVER ISSUES AND NOT BANS!

SAFETY

To avoid bans, I suggest modifying your configs to increase the amount of time between actions, catching pokemon, etc.
Lowering walking speeds, and disabling sniping are two more ways to avoid bans.
These are precautions that is used in order to make your bot seem more realistic so that Niantic doesn't ban you.

High EXP configs seem to be the most common target currently. Try to keep your exp under 40,000 an hour for now.

TYPES OF BANS

1. Account ban / cannot retrieve data from server ban. (within last 8 hours)
- some people that have reported this are legit players who don't bot, so this might be a legit server error.

2. New soft bans
-In some instances people are able to capture pokemon and not loot stops, and sometimes it's the other way around. Bypasses don't work and little information is currently known.

Thank you for the details OP, I think my new botting account just got banhammered; not sure for how long will update when I know, I think it was due to an issue with my lat/long then I fixed it and encountered it 27mins into running a brand new bot (lvl1-13)

I cannot give a definite answer, but I don't think you were banned due to botting if it's been so long. Like it says in the post, it may just be server issues.

Great post. Got the same error, can't get game data from server, but I botted.

I can access Pokemon GO with other accounts on my phone.

I've noticed that the "failed to get data" is different from the new type of ban. That's probably a server issue, but can also be caused by the ban.

Niantic said something about permanent bans:

That's what I was thinking as well.
It's possible for "failed to get data" to be a perma ban, or a server issue.

We have to wait and see.

I get failed to get data. Did they just delete my account? It's definitely not my IP, can use my other accounts just fine.

This is weird, I had 30 bots running the last 24h, just got back from work to see 20 bots getting the "NotInRange" and all pokemon fleeing.
5 running exactly the same setup didn't get banned and are still going.

Above bots all had a dynamic walking speed of 7-17 km/h, running on GoManager, each on a dedicated ip, 1 per bot.

Then I had 5x Necrobots running, a lvl 25,32,33,36 and 37, all had a static walking speed of 9km/h and did NOT get banned. These also ran on a dedicated ip per bot.
The Necrobot config was with very slow values, a lot of delay between actions, like 5-6 seconds.

Edit: I think I once logged in on a real mobile phone on those lvl 32,33,36 and 37, not on the lvl 25 though, but that one was only lvling for 18h instead of 24h.

Edit2: The accounts which have "NotInRange" and fleeing pokemon is still able to catch starter pokemon, choose a name and gym, hatch eggs, evolve, upgrade and BATTLE GYMS!!!!
