For those of you who still seek a shounen even after growing up with Naruto, One Piece, and that memorable bunch of anime, this is surely one for you. HxH's story manages to keep the light-hearted feel throughout the anime, while simultaneously adding in several arcs, minor themes, and even going to dark undertones. And indeed while this is another anime that relies on using power in fights, there is more thought put into strategy and past experiences rather than trying to simply overpower the opponent. Despite all that occurs throughout the anime, it remains consistent up to its final ep. Art is well done and the sound is nice with a few good OPs.
While in theory this anime only has 1 MC, there really are 4 and each is able to bring a different perspective/backstory to the table that becomes intertwined with the plot. However, HxH also does an excellent job with supporting characters and gives each their fair share. However, a draw back most notable is that it does take some time to get into the anime, as it does start off slow and only picks up pace after the first 5-10 eps. There are also a few other minor details, however discussing them in this part would be a spoiler in itself ;) However, I do recommend this to anyone seeking a longer anime and if you can muster to sit through it all I guarantee you won't be disappointed ;)

Just finished watching an episode of it on toonami lmao. Love it, recommend it for sure.
TL;DR for OP a bunch of guys are in the woods hunting each other with strategy and strength.

I watched HxH since i was young, been loving the series since then, its sad that the mangaka does not regularly update the series because of health problems.

Long-running anime's almost always lose their luster after awhile.
Filler is added, too many characters, lack of a reality check from writing too many chapters. Plot holes develop.

For the people who are calling Hxh(2011) childish you have to finish it first and then you are able to express your opinion :) So don't call it childish or w/e

This show is great - originally I put it off because I thought it looked too childish; but this show is far from it and is fucking amazing. This is easily one of the best long-running anime out there. If you like Naruto then I would suggest this very much :) Also if you like stuff like Sword Art Online; this show has a bit of everything. It even seems to draw some inspiration from Dragon Ball and other great anime like that!

This anime is amazing, it has everything you want, in a good form. There's no one I know IRL that didn't like it. It's childish, or fun in the outside, but as you watch it, you start feeling it deeper, it is a sutile work. I really rocommend it. And hope it get's continued some day.
Offtopic, My mother fell in love with Gons innocence and finished the series in two weeks or so. It was just her and my crunchyroll account.

Havent watched it for a while but Ive watched about 100-115 episodes of it, great anime imo especially if you like longer anime series.

Its a great series and what I love so much about it is how they made the fighting styles interesting and cool at the same time. Its very much unique to the series.
The downside of this is the writer is known for taking a break. The manga is currently at a standstill and no one knows when the next chapter will roll out. The last break lasted around a year if I can recall correctly....

Found this article from yesterday. Manga is still delayed ofc, but apparently the reason for the delay (and the last few times) is due to Togashi's back pains.

will always be one of my favorite anime. if you haven't watched it and think it's too childish, please rethink your decision as it might not be what you expect. I encourage people who haven't watched it to watch it up to at least the chimera ants arc, as I find that the best parts of the anime are before it.
