the questions is stated above but which linux distro for laptops with touchscreen?
I just mainly just want to skype and code on it.

You aren't going to use the touchscreen for anything are you? Regardless, give ubuntu+touch-egg a try.

I own a Toshiba E45T Touchscreen laptop and have installed Linux Mint and Ubuntu Xenial without any issue. I recommend Mint if you are not using prey software tho.
Skype is abailable in both repositories and i've coded in both Python and Matlab under these distros.
