[Suggestion] Buy a closed users name. - Mαxim - Aug 15, 2016 Code Can you delete an account so I can get the username?Been thinking about this for a lil while now. What would you guys think about being able to buy the name of a closed users name? Read careful before you try to find a reason why this would not be a good idea. If a user have been closed, you are not able to change to his or hers username, the username is still applied to the account. I have heard that the forum sometimes "prunes" closed accounts, and I do believe that the username will be available then? If you do not wanna wait for that to happen and you want the username. You should be able to pay a fee to have the closed user's name. The user who had the username will stay but be changed to another name. Let us say that the user were named "Nick", then the user would be namechanged to "name-bought: Nick" or something. Requirements? The account must have been closed for inactivity. The name cannot violate any of the rules. ... more How would it work? It would not be a feature or some kind, it would simple be added here or somewhere. It would work just like when you buy sticky, not automatic. You use private message. The price would be somewhere where the sticky price is, something like 30-40 usd. Please read it all before you post your feedback. * - 2073436 - Aug 15, 2016 30-40 usd too expensive for just an username. You can change it for free so that's way too overpriced. * - minimalist - Aug 15, 2016 Denied many times in the past, here are a few: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=3961257 https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=4280660 https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=4236220 https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=4457333 * - Mαxim - Aug 15, 2016 (Aug 15, 2016 11:27 AM)Skilo Wrote: 30-40 usd too expensive for just an username. Link (2): Simple wanna change his username. Not a real suggestion. Link (3): Wants closed users pruned right away so the username gets available. Link (4): Wants accounts deleted as above. I do not want closed accounts to be deleted/pruned, they will be renamed. Read the whole thread. * - SIM-3181716 - Aug 15, 2016 I think this would be a great implement. I would love to be able to buy "Gage". :) * - ⭐ PROFIT ⭐ - Aug 15, 2016 No need for that. Use invisible characters instead. * - minimalist - Aug 15, 2016 (Aug 15, 2016 11:29 AM)That Guy Maxim Wrote: It is a fee. Why a fee? I don't have the time to sort through multitudes of threads, but I know that the buying closed accounts' suggestion has been posted many times. I have read the main body, and I've replied that it has been suggested many times. No use in suggesting things that have already been denied. * - Mαxim - Aug 15, 2016 (Aug 15, 2016 11:54 AM)Minimalist Wrote: I have read the main body, and I've replied that it has been suggested many times. That is my suggestion. * - Meow - Aug 15, 2016 Use invisible character and move on, as Profit said. * - minimalist - Aug 15, 2016 (Aug 15, 2016 12:13 PM)That Guy Maxim Wrote: None suggested to rename the closed account? Maybe requiring the closed time to be a month? * - Mαxim - Aug 15, 2016 (Aug 15, 2016 11:49 AM)Gage. Wrote: I think this would be a great implement. With me, we would have paid HF 100 usd together or so. Not bad. Maybe requiring the closed time to be a month? The impersonating part, ye you might have a point. But the purchase system would not be auto, so Hackforums would be able to review the name before changing the name of the closed account. Good idea regarding the closed time thingy, not sure if it matters too much tho. * - John Watson - Aug 15, 2016 Almost everything with this idea is completely wrong and I mention the exact reasons below. 1. Closed accounts may be associated with scammers (e.g. Nickelodeon) who have scammed more than a dozen of people for large sums. Therefore, Nickelodeon could simply change house, make a new account, be active to meet any Omni's criteria, buy the account back and in half a year scam again. 2. Since close accounts may be associated with scammers, it's highly likely for other members to see the accounts change ownership as admin's motive to encourage scamming. e.g. Nickelodeon got banned for scamming people. His account got unbanned, his posts and reputations purged. Members who got scammed by him may still be online on forum and don't know what's going on. So more drama, more hustle and bustle for stuff. 3. Closed accounts are usually rep fucked which means they have tons of negative reputation. Removing them wouldn't be so much wise. I can easily go to my friend's house who doesn't have an HF account, sign up and buy a scammer's username to come back and start trolling people or scamming again. Reviewing is pointless. |
