Vb.net use no-ip and DDNS for local service access - ironlord - Aug 15, 2016 Hi everyone. I'm trying to write a http server and it work on my local network, now I'm trying to make it accessable from the internet by using no-ip service as my DDNS for pointing to my ip address and using PPTP vpn service to allow portforwding. Can someone help with this issue? * - Zilog80 - Aug 15, 2016 Why is this related with .NET forum? Is a no-ip or portforwarding 'question'. Try here: Networking and Firewalls * - ironlord - Aug 15, 2016 it consider as .Net question because the http server is written in vb.net and I want to find a method to use no-ip and vpn to access it from the internet * - Zilog80 - Aug 15, 2016 For using no-ip you should configure propertly your account in no-ip site. For portforwarding you router to access to your http server outside from your network you should configure your router. The http server should be coded in .NET, Go, Delphi, C, perl or whatever, is irrelevant. Edited: Maybe this video helps. Its for Apache Web Server, but the idea is the same for your http server: * - ironlord - Aug 16, 2016 I know this method the point of using vpn is to perform port forwarding because when I'm using canyouseeme.com website to check if the port 80 is available or not it say the port is open by this result i should be able to access my server easily right or there is something I miss? |
