graphics card causing bsod? - nique ta mere - Aug 18, 2016

I was in the middle of downloading an updated version of catalyst control center last night when my pc crashed, I boot it back up and the windows loading screen takes roughly 1~ minute then after that it loads up a black screen (when desktop should load) and does the loading cursor for a few seconds then BSODs, I'm pretty sure I've uninstalled all ATI/AMD services but it still doesn't work, my computer boots fine without the graphics card.

Can anyone help thx

What graphics card do you have?
Are you downloading the Catalyst drivers, or Crimson drivers?

I'm unsure atm, it's pretty outdated though.

Don't use those drivers. They are very old.

Download them from here.

If you open up the side of your PC, there's probably a model number or something on the graphics card.

Try getting into Safe Mode and if you can, you should use DDU from the link below and uninstall the drivers. Make sure you get version 17.0.0.0 for DDU.

Once you have done that, restart and get out of Safe Mode and install the Crimson drviers.

I tried in safe mode before with graphics card in but it didn't work, can I still do it without the graphics card in?

You should be able to. Make sure you use DDU.
