Free a lot of space on hard drives? - ℳint - Aug 22, 2016 How do I remove about 20gb worth of hard drive space? It's required for a Windows upgrade. I've tried all the cache cleaning programs including the one installed on Windows. * - Breeze26509 - Aug 22, 2016 Download and run CCleaner from here. https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard * - ℳint - Aug 22, 2016 (Aug 22, 2016 03:30 PM)Breeze26509 Wrote: Download and run CCleaner from here. I have been using that for a while, and there's never anything more than 1GB needing to be cleaned * - Breeze26509 - Aug 22, 2016 Use this and see what's taking up a lot of space. https://windirstat.info/ I'm assuming you've tried removing applications that you're not using? * - archangel.dmitry - Aug 22, 2016 Delete not needed restore points. * - Gt403cyl - Aug 22, 2016 (Aug 22, 2016 04:01 PM)archangel.dmitry Wrote: Delete not needed restore points. This ^^ in CCleaner go to tools>restore and you delete all but the most recent point. * - Coton Pker - Aug 22, 2016 you can probably also delete a bunch of the %TEMP% dir. mine is like 1.3GB worth of shit right now lol. * - Gt403cyl - Aug 22, 2016 (Aug 22, 2016 04:07 PM)Coton Pker Wrote: you can probably also delete a bunch of the %TEMP% dir. I've removed a lot from a list of programs located at Change or remove a program. Will look into that program. Thanks. (Aug 22, 2016 04:01 PM)archangel.dmitry Wrote: Delete not needed restore points. I have just looked in CCLeaner and I do not see any restore points. * - Raguel - Aug 23, 2016 If you have 2 drives, you can move your pagefile to the other. It's system cache and takes up a LOT of space. |
