School installed new software wtf!? - Gyinhs - Aug 25, 2016 So last year I broke into the local admin account on my school issued computer. I activated it and finally had an admin account. Life was great. This year they have updated our computers to win 10. I re-did the process and unlocked the local admin account once again. All though, something was a bit odd. Everything was normal and I had admin privelieges but when I went into "uninstall programs" in the control panel I saw a program called "Local Administrator Password Solution". That program wasnt there before the new pc upgrade. I read some stuff about it on the internet but I don't really understand what that program does. Does anyone here know what that does? Can that program "bust" me? It spooked me a bit that the IT guys may be able to see that I've changed password on the local admin account now lol. (If that's whtat the program does) It's called "Local Administrator Password Solution" or "Laps" * - Alex - A2Hosting - Aug 25, 2016 I found: microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=46899 Having read it very quickly, it doesn't seem like they can 'bust you' but does give them extra privileges like resetting the password etc * - Gyinhs - Aug 25, 2016 (Aug 25, 2016 07:58 AM)Alex - A2Hosting Wrote: I found: microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=46899 Yeah. thx * - Jefe - Aug 25, 2016 It simplifies that life of a school domain administrator, allowing them to reset local account passwords freely. |
