Design your own character - $20 AUD contest - Mr. Robot - Sep 14, 2016
So a few people have mentioned they enjoy making games whether it's for android/ios or PC.
I figure, if you have the time - try draw your best representation of a main character from a game you would play. It could be a monster, human, dragon, hybrid - give it a story too.
Watermark your images if you make anything or if you get too inspired while drawing something up, PM as there are always investors looking to invest in a new game.
I can only offer $20AUD unfortunately and only 1 winner.
Contest ends in 5 working days time -
Must have a back story for the character
You may enter more than once.
The image doesn't have to be the in game character model- could be just artwork like "fanart" of your character.
Optional to give an idea of what type of game such as rpg/tcg/arena
Winner will be decided by Shoe and myself.
Your story for the character might be 10x better than your drawing, that's perfectly fine.
Hopefully we get some eyes on this thread and someone might pick you out to design something for them in the future.

Ash Ketchum is a young boy who has a dream to become the greatest pokemon trainer in the world.
At some point in his early life, Ash went on a field trip in a rainy forest and got lost. Scared to the point of tears, he was forced to hide in a hollow tree trunk. A group of local Pokémon joined him and cheered him up, which was partially what motivated him to become a Pokémon Trainer.
Ash also enrolled in Professor Oak's Pokémon Summer Camp when he was young. One day, another camper named Serena got lost in the forest and wounded her leg after getting startled by a Poliwag. Ash, who was looking for the Poliwag, came to her rescue and wrapped a handkerchief around the wounded knee to brace it. He then helped her up and guided her out of the forest.
At some point before starting their journeys, Ash was friends with Gary Oak until they both fished out a Poké Ball on both their lines. After arguing about who would keep it, they broke it in two, each keeping one half as a reminder of that day.

You definitely can mate, but the main point is to show your creativity in writing, graphics or both so someone might notice you in the future if they need either done.

That's perfectly fine man, as long as we get what you are trying to put across, better to be in if nobody else enters right?
Try draw something simple, you can even just photoshop different parts of people on to animals or whatever you are going for, then turn the image into a stencil without even drawing.
You might need to focus a bit more on the backstory however.
Working as a team with someone who can draw but not story their character could also work.

Year 2169, Human kind is in the brink of evolution.
A new generation humans called 'Transcendent' have emerged. They are born with abilities labeled as 'Gears' that enables them to have control over certain elements/objects or even life forces. Though many have accepted the Transcendent as the next stage of humanity, even more saw this as an abomination and labeled the Transcendent 'Mutated'.
The most common abilities transcendents posses are the control over the Earth, and better physique than that of a normal human being. Control over air is impossible and control over water is a rarity. Those who could are often treated as nobility. Control over fire however, is considered an abomination even to the transcendents because those who are born with such abilities always never lives for they are unstable and their birth lead to violent deaths for both infant and carrier.
A private organization called 'Light' rallied humans to wage war against the transcendents either because of jealousy or the fact that they consider this evolution as heresy. The first war occurred at the summer of 2201. The event is remembered as 'War of the morning star'. The Followers of Light defeated the force of the Transcendents by using Bioweapons that would cause the Transcendents to lose control over their powers while it becomes unstable eventually consuming them. The war ended at the year end of 2205, convincing even more humans to have hatred towards the Transcendents.
After the war, most transcendents were made slaves and 'Light' became the rulers of humanity with their newfound religion based off on their hatred towards the transcendents.
Transcendents were injected multiple times with objects that not only made the use of their abilities painful, but also made them controllable by those who wishes to do so. Most transcendents were sent to death mines to harvest resources, many made to be for entertainment, and some for experimentations.
Light also found a way to stop the evolution of humans into Transcendents thus preserving his followers instead of executing those that have evolved.

Elos was born with the ability to control Fire. Before his birth, his parents agreed that he should live even though his ability is considered an abomination amongst their people. He was extracted from his mother, taken straight from her belly in order to live.
He was then placed into a specialized tank in hopes of him not losing control over his abilities.
Elos survived his birth and childhood without the knowledge of his abilities. He was informed that he was a 'defective' Transcendent, those who has evolved but has no control over anything.
He found out about his abilities at the age of 14, when confronted by humans. He was beaten up an inch to his death when he sparked his first flame, burning those around him to ashes and almost burning himself as well. He ended up with half his face melted by his own fire.
When elders of the new rebellion found out about Elos' new found knowledge of himself, they counseled him and told him of his true purpose.
To be the sword of the coming war.
