This is an anime I watched a few years ago when it came out and decided to make a discussion thread seeing as I could not find any prior existing ones. Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio: Ars Nova (or Arpeggio of Blue Steel in English) places the viewer within a military/sci-fi anime. The anime therefore stresses the importance of strategy throughout and presents some very interesting battles, and occasionally touches on more personal topics, yet still fuses in sci-fi structure. However the plot is lacking, as there is a fastened pace, some incomplete conspiracies, and especially has little character development. This is most noticeable in the main protagonist (considered to be the best tactician in the series) with whom we only know a handful of information about and his motivation.

Sound was done fairly well, and the OPs were pleasant to listen to. For an anime that deals with CG its actually a decent watch and the action is done well. The characters are decent, however as stated above there is quite a lack with the development. It is also noticeable that eventually further into the anime that the main group of characters represents a harem with there being the MC, one other dude and the rest all female. Nevertheless, this was still a decent watch and I'd recommend it for anyone seeking an average sci-fi in their spare time. ;)

It looks a bit of the mediocre side and the CG is off-putting, but nonetheless I added it to my watch it.

Its an average watch, the only good highlights were probably the action scenes. CG was decent, not great but watchable.

It's nice anime to watch if you're looking for a small break from whatever genre you're watching. Usually I rewatch many anime series, but I don't think this anime is rewatchable, not that it's bad, but not too good to rewatch. Except for the OP song, no idea why I took a liking to it <.<

I watched 1 episode because the opening was nice, but the art style threw me off and I said fuck it. Not watching it.

This is like a guilty little pleasure anime of mine. Like, its not super good in any particular region, but I still really enjoyed the anime in its entirety. Not sure why I like it so much, but I recommend giving it a watch.
