I'm not sure about how easy it is, but have you looked into it on youtube?
Youtube has tons of tutorials.

You can spoof the extension, but if they think they're cyber gods they'll know it's spoofed.
There's no way to actually make the exe look like an image by changing the extension or making it appear like a .jpg unless you found an exploit for windows somewhere.

I checked on youtube a shit ton, it just has tutorials from 2011 that aren't updated and lead to viruses

Tell the guy you send him a diaporama (set of different pictures)
Name your file "Diaporama.scr" (change .exe to .scr , it will not corrupt the file)
Make a text file "Created with Demo Version of Screen Saver Diaporama" 'or name a software that exists to build more proof)
Send him this as . rar and profit

this trick worked long time ago. you simply bind your server with an image using a binder, and spoof the extension. But the chance of this working today is like 5% or less. Might only work with people with ~0 knowledge with computers.

You would be surprised with how little of knowledge people have with computers, not everyone is computer savy. But when it comes down to it I think anyone would notice a .exe at the end of a file

My suggestion would be bind it to a game .exe file for example mincraft.exe etc.
