Unaccessabile Drives - Ken M - Oct 15, 2016

I have one SSD and HDD installed. Since a couple of days ago I am not able to access my HDD or any external USB drives I plug in. I can see that the external drive is connected via a 3rd party program but I cannot access it. When I run check disk in CMD it says the drive is inaccessible.

Have you tried reproducing this issue with a different OS on the machine? If the issue persists in Linux, there's a good chance it's hardware related. If not, you may be able to fix this.

I'll have to get a live Cd made when I get home, thanks! The external does open on my laptop which has Kali linux installed, now to test HDD.

Bad sectors are an end of life of any drive. Reformatting my help for some time but the drive is basically gone.
