Sure it didn't make any sense, but badassery needs no explanation ;) That is the gist of what you will get with these two OVAs. If you're the type to need background and a general understanding of the plot before viewing anything then I recommend reading the manga before viewing these OVAs, as while they are generally not too hard to follow it is understandable why some may be utterly thrown into confusion. Exposition does not exist in this anime, and there's no need for action is the blood that drives this story. However, for those who do wish to know, it is the typical apocalypse/Mad-Max setting. I believe this was a contemporary anime with the likes of Hokuto no Ken. Yet despite the age, it actually holds its own. The music and scores are well composed and catchy, and the animation is pretty decent. Character wise there is really only the badass MC and a few secondary characters. No development from anyone generally, although we see more involvement in the second OVA with a "rival" character, yet generally this is neglected. Overall it isn't the best anime, yet it does its job to deliver an action-packed, blood and gore, kickass feel and I would recommend it for anyone that has 1.5 hours to spare ;) |
