Hack Windows to install unsupported legacy drivers? - Staind - Nov 21, 2016 Hello everybody! :) Is there anyone here who knows how to hack Windows 10 to install unsupported legacy drivers such as AMD ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 with up to 3711MB HyperMemory? At the moment Windows 10 only wants to install the 4200 series and 5000 series with only 1GB memory available. The computer should be able to switch between those, but I had to turn it off in Bios because it would not work while it was enabled. Any registry suggestions perhaps? Either way. If directly from the manufacturer doesn't work, I usually try from DRP.SU it's a very nice driver updating program that's free and clean, just make sure you uncheck any of the boxes that say extra stuff unrelated to drivers, cause you don't want to install additional shit thats optional like a russian yandex browser etc. But it's GREAT at autodetecting every driver you need and virus free. * - Staind - Nov 21, 2016 (Nov 21, 2016 07:18 AM)¥ Ɨ Jonah Ɨ ¥ Wrote: I don't think there should be need for a "Hack" have you tried looking on the manufaturers website for the proper driver? For some reason Windows refuses to let me install the driver properly, even with the drp.su. Windows claims the graphic card is unsupported, I even tried to force installation by disbling the driver signature verification. Still no luck... 😧 howtogeek has a guide on that. * - 7 - Nov 21, 2016 (Nov 21, 2016 10:55 AM)Staind Wrote: For some reason Windows refuses to let me install the driver properly, even with the drp.su. Ewww drp.su havent used that in a while. Windows Update & Developers support site. whats up is your graphics really old or what>? Strange this page says does not exist: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/ATI-mobility-radeon-HD-5650-driver-windows-10-64-bits/td-p/5216579 * - Staind - Nov 21, 2016 (Nov 21, 2016 10:58 AM)NulldB Wrote: Ewww drp.su havent used that in a while. Anyway if I only could get it working, I would be satisfied. I use this computer for photoshopping, IT-school and I also play movies from the blueray burner. Works fine though it is slow sometimes on some software, because the graphic card is not working properly without the drivers. It worked in Windows 8.1 but not in Windows 10. Update: Googled the topic of the link you posted, and finally got it working. Thanks for the suggestions guys! :D * - werhuman - Jan 19, 2017 Try getting Driver booster from IObit. (Probably shouldn't say; but there are hacks to get the program licences etc. See you Tube) Version 3.xx will do fine. Get it to scan your drivers and update the ones it recommends. The program finds obscure drivers from various internet sources, and; so far, It's got me out of a few fixes. Especially with Some of the "older" Acer Laptops. * - ghost_486 - Jan 20, 2017 lol mine older, i have a geforce 6 6800 256meges ultra :D |
