Need some help. Dual monitors for an office. - _Catalyst_ - Nov 22, 2016 So, I'm working with a very budgeted office. They are using: Dell Optiplex 745 Dell Optiplex 360 Dell Optiplex 320 Dell Optiplex 755 Dell Optiplex 760 Dell Optiplex 755 They are mostly running windows 7 (Yes I know, They are XP native) They have had dual monitors at one point running on these. It is set up so one monitor is plugged in standard VGA and one cord is running through a SIIG VGA to USB for the secondary monitor. When I install the adapter software I can get it only to mirror the screens. Or when I try to extend the desktop I can move the mouse to the second screen and all I see is the mouse in the middle of the blackness, Even if I try to drag a window from the first screen to the second I still only see a mouse and nothing else. Any ideas you guys can throw out for food for thought? * - GokuBlade - Dec 6, 2016 is there any software from a website you have to download in order for it work? * - _Catalyst_ - Dec 6, 2016 (Dec 6, 2016 01:01 AM)GokuBlade Wrote: is there any software from a website you have to download in order for it work? Yea, I figured it out. The issues was far more complex then I'd imagined. I got it all resolved though. I just opened this for as much food for thought as possible. * - Lord - Dec 6, 2016 (Dec 6, 2016 01:49 AM)_Catalyst_ Wrote: Yea, I figured it out. The issues was far more complex then I'd imagined. Would you mind sharing what the solution was? Just in case someone else happens to have the same problem in some insane coincidence. * - _Catalyst_ - Dec 6, 2016 (Dec 6, 2016 01:50 AM)That One Random Wrote: Would you mind sharing what the solution was? I highly doubt that, these are very old models. Some of them consistently failed because the onboard gfx card failed. Some were so incredibly caked in dust that it would only read some of the dimm slots which if slight shifted would blue screen. Most of the installed OS's were installed from a corrupt copy... Some of the adapters were also identical in appearance with a knock off logo, Cheap Asian made replicas. Most of them were variables of these issues. Clearly whoever they hired before me did not take very good care of these supplies. |
