Should people who offer free services be allowed to only offer to ub3r & l33t? - Wakka - Nov 27, 2016

So alot of people offer free services, however some people only offer these services to ub3rs & l33ts, IMO any free services should be offered to all members not just upgraded ones.

When you think about it some members may not be able to afford the upgrades as you're probably aware alot of people come from incredibly poor countries and sometimes buying an upgrade could be extremely difficult for them... When this is happening doesn't it sort of alienate normal members from upgraded ones. There is alot of members who are contributing members of the community, they may not have upgrades but they do however post regularly and help out.

Maybe it's just me who feels this way about upgraded member only services, IMO there should be some sort policy that prevents this sort of thing, I'm aware people want reputation but it is not fair to alienate people based on the size of their wallet, it effectively makes the forums a pay to win/play type community.

Well it is up to the person who they want to offer the service to.
Many non-upgraded users are leechers who have not contributed meanwhile others are not. So I believe it should depend on that

This. If a user has 4 posts an not upgraded, no contribuations to hf and such, should they be able to use all free services? Hm dunno.

It's a good incentive for people to become L33T and UB3R so they can obtain these free services.

That's a good point however wouldn't it be better to just prevent new members from having access to free service, that way it encourages them to be active in the community and maybe they will contribute more and be less leechy?

In my opinion they do this because they want "reps" in return which us( Non upgraded) members can't give.

* - T-rom - Nov 27, 2016

I don't think it should be a requirement.

I have seen many people bend their rules for helpful members.
Also depending on the service they may not be able to handle the flow of all the 20+ post count with -100 rep members asking for free things/ trying to re-sell their service.

I agree with this.

There are still alot of services out there that offer free stuff to non upgraded users but its just less. Mainly talking about social media likes/ followers

* - Prophett - Nov 27, 2016

People saying its for reputation are retards.
Firstly, although my giveaways are for upgraded users, I bend the rules for those who are high quality.
The reason why its advertised for upgraded users is because I do not have the time to PM loads of users.
Also, as users above have mentioned, it's an additional perk for upgraded users.

I do not receive reputation from even half of the members I giveaway to.
GTFO with your bullshit accusations. I would like to see you spend time and effort into creating something and giving it away to leechers.

* - Bluffer - Nov 27, 2016

It offers yet another perk for members to upgrade their account. If they can not afford a $20.00 upgrade than maybe they shouldn't be on the internet and should be out looking for a job?

This is true but I still think it's fine to offer giveaways only for upgraded members but it becomes a bit ridiculous when they only want to offer it to ub3rs to get an extra +2 out of it. If you pay for an upgrade it shows your dedication and enthusiasm towards the site, where as normal members usually have no contributions. Something positive I've seen recently is members hosting giveaways and saying you can get this if you're ub3r, l33t, or a normal member with this many mosts or rep or contributions.
