xenForo redirecting the forum to another forum? Admin cp taken. - Sharjah - Nov 28, 2016

Got admin access on a pretty large forum.

Wondering what features I can get from the admin cp? And if possible redirect the board through the admin cp?

Hmm. I'm not quite sure if redirecting is possible with Xenforo, but you can try playing with the Route Filters.
Route filters allow you to modify the URLs generated by Xenforo.

Or you can replace the sections/categories/subforums (nodes) with links, so when people click them they get redirected to your destination.

Is there a way to save the DB from the admin cp? That could be useful.

Will take a look when the admin gets offline to spend time through the admin cp and see what I come up with

As far as I know, no. You can not grab the DB trough the admin CP.
This needs to be done in PhpMyAdmin or trough a shell with mysqldump.

But you can secretly install add-ons trough the admin control panel.

Sypex Dumper, Backup and restore your database

Just a friendly reminder, in the Tools tab there is a list of log pages, including an admin log page, this log page will include your IP when you play with the admin control panel.

Sounds good. Hopefully there's some config in the admincp to redirect the board. I know MyBB has a similar feature to that.

Actually. I've looked up my Xenforo setup and found that it is actually possible to redirect. I honestly never thought it was possible.

You have to manually put users in the discouraged setting, this can be done in admin.php?users/list
After you've done that you need to go to admin.php?options/list/discourager#_discourageRedirectUrl and change the Redirection Chance to 100 and then just change the Redirection URL to your destination.

Discouraged users are subjected to annoying random delays and failures in system behavior, designed to 'encourage' them to go away and troll some other site.

Have fun! 🤝

Good looking out. Gonna try that out in a bit when the admin goes to sleep.
