FM Transmitter - Papa Cuda - Dec 1, 2016 Hey guys. Found a cool DIY project on how to build your own FM Transmitter for pretty cheap. Thought I'd share with you guys. Click here. Anyone know how you could make this even more powerful? The specifications say it can reach 1/4 mile. I want to make it more, seems like you can have a lot of fun with this. Mainly for trolling purposes. Enjoy! * - Stupid Fool - Dec 1, 2016 it's so little!! 😁 I dont know about building a bigger one but you can easily buy amplifiers on ebay. So your Fm radio can be thousands of watts if you really want * - Papa Cuda - Dec 1, 2016 (Dec 1, 2016 01:35 PM)Stupid Fool Wrote: it's so little!! 😁 I was thinking of trying so scale it and have one that runs off a 12 watt battery. Getting an antenna and maybe one of these amplifiers. I'm totally new to this kind of stuff so this is why I tured here :P I'm pretry sure this will be awesome and hilarious. Especially since I live so close to a highway. If I can extend the distance I can troll pretty hard. * - webdev77 - Dec 2, 2016 (Dec 1, 2016 07:28 PM)cudacore Wrote: I was thinking of trying so scale it and have one that runs off a 12 watt battery. Watts are a unit for power, not energy storage. Watt-hours would tell you how much power is stored in a battery and amp-hours are a measure of capacity * - kpown - Dec 2, 2016 Wow very cool. I definitely want to try this at some point soon. * - Shadow Reign - Dec 3, 2016 (Dec 1, 2016 11:48 AM)cudacore Wrote: Hey guys. Would more than likely need a specific wound of a specific gauge of copper wire on the transmitter. Usually 1/8'' at five winds gets like 400 feet. As for taking over other radios signals, you'd need a fairly large transmission tower. Your signal would have to be stronger than the competitors so if you're close to them, you might as well forget that station and pick a different one. |
