Mcafee [ Site adviser ] - liam270591 - Dec 10, 2016 Hello community, I hope everyone is having a lovely evening and are well and warm this winter 🤝 I am having some issues to say the least with the site adviser by mcafee it's stopping me accessing perfectly legitimate sites. however I can't seem to find where to disable it from. I know this seems like a retarded question however I am not over keen with windows I am usually a SUSE user but this is my windows laptop - It's becoming a pain in the arse and It's getting to the point where I am going to take the whole damm thing off my laptop ( and put SUSE on lol ) but seriously do any of you know how to turn it off? I know I could google but the problem is I have uninstalled certain parts of this mcafee suite and it's still blocking certain sites, ones I know are not harmful at all. * - CatsCattail - Dec 10, 2016 Heres your first problem, you use McAfee. * - liam270591 - Dec 10, 2016 Yeah I know. I think I am going to just take the whole piece of shit off. I am not usually on windows so usually I don't mess with AV's.... I think that's answered my question lol. * - Anonymousawu - Dec 12, 2016 If you run Firefox you should run the extension uBlock to stop pop-ups and unwanted web requests, and Disconnect for a little privacy and informations about the pages you go through. Both will give some speed to you when surfing. Using Windows just take Malwarebytes and the default Windows Defender AV to make scans + other portable specific AVs like Adwcleaner and RogueKiller which are highly recommended in case of infections.
