Why is deal dispute moderation so shit? - Esque - Dec 10, 2016

So many people scam on this forum & go on with their account with no consequences. I have seen people with like 5+ scam reports who continue to scam and use the forum normally. This is probably the first forum I have seen this in, actually. How can moderation be so shit? Staff can go through Ub3r apps but can't clean up the forum of scammers? Fucking sad lmao.

Staff doesn't get involved with any deals in the marketplace.

well there is no moderation for starters

This. I think it's good because it keeps a free market and keeps the forum from losing activity.

It keeps the drama flowing through my veins.

If someone gets scammed by someone with 5+ scam reports open, they're an idiot. End of story.

Take a look. Do some research always before dealing if you are really concerned. Staff is busy. It takes sometime to validate that a deal dispute is real.

I feel like 99% of the time, if research done correctly, scams will not occur. The 1% that happens, well that's just unpredictable.

Because mods can't prove they are telling the trust or lying.

If it gets bad enough they will get banned.

1. Too many deals are made here.
2. We don't want to get involved in the deals.
3. The decision to participate in a deal here is all yours as well as the risk.
4. We're not law enforcement and do not have investigative powers past this site.
5. If we get involved then we also face liability by doing so.
6. If we got involved in deals would you also allow us to tell you that you're not allowed to close the deal?
7. HF was not designed to be a Marketplace even though we have a very active marketplace forum.

If you're unsure about a user just use a middleman, and do some extensive research. Unfortunately hf doesn't get involved so it's your duty to do your homework!

It's better to have a known scammer and not ban his account so other users can be warned (if they do proper research which many fail to do so). If you ban a scammer, he can always open a new account and start the process again.

* - Zink - Dec 11, 2016

it's mainly to aware other members in the forum about the person, then if problem continues to escalate, most users tend to open a "Community Alert" on the individual.

* - Undefined - Dec 11, 2016

Staff doesn't get involved in deal disputes. Use a MM and search the user's UID. Now you won't get scammed :)
