Is Nigeria blocked from accessing HF? - Glyco - Dec 17, 2016

My friend is trying to access HF but it won't let him access the page it is giving him the error as seen below. He used to access HF just fine, but this past week he has been getting this error. He asked me to post this himself because he can't access HF.

Whenever I am on a VPN I cannot log in. Maybe it is that, if he is using one.

Nope I don't think thats it. Otherwise it wouldn't show his ip address on the site

Nigeria is usually a country that poses threats such as phishing, spam and other threats. Nigeria is always blocked on any site I make and honestly I would not be surprised if it is blocked from here.

there isn't a published list but I bet Nigeria is on it for vpn/botnet reasons

Tried those listed method but it didn't work. I don't really understand he has been able to access HF from the very beginning.

The list was made in 2013 and Omniscient said he will be adding to the list as he sees fit. He also said he will not edit the thread when he makes changes. Nigeria may not be listed there, but it could very well be blocked.

It's very possible but no way to know for sure unless Omni replies to this thread.

I believe he's said there is no official list of all the blocked countries and data centers.

Take out the your ip part please, save your friend from getting attacked.

It is likely the ISP carrier that is blocked, not an entire country/region.

They are likely blocked in that region by using cyber cafes or other known threat net blocks. As already noted, Nigeria, Lagos in specific is capitol for internet scams and phishing. Its kinda ridiculous. Your friend might be best to rent a US VPS or something for connectivity if they can not find a way around the block.

I think HF might be in fact blocking Nigeria. My other friend who is also from Nigeria is getting the same cloudflare error

Stop having friends from Nigeria, but seriously which website doesn't block Nigeria?
