what is the difference between blackshades and rats selling right now? - 5ilent - Dec 23, 2016

As some of you know I am developing a rat right now and was wondering what the rats up now are doing different from blackshades to not getting caught for selling these kind of tools? Didn't blackshades have a tos?? We're they promoting illegal use?? How should I do to sell my stuff without problems? Thanks🤝

If I'm not mistaken but Blackshades had a ton of illegal shit on it and they promoted illegal use of it. Also the owner was into shady shit as well. ToS isn't going to save anyone.

Previously Known As... definitely could provide the most accurate information regarding this. However, some of the main reasons (among others) would include the straight up popularity of the RAT, it was extremely popular and used by basically everyone. They also advertised straight up Black Hat features like Form Grabbers and CC related things. The final thing that took them down though was finding the Blackshades coders on an FBI honeypot carding forum.

EDIT: This thread might be a good read.

They advertised Blackshades as a credit card stealing tool to a FBI undercover sting operation in order to get "Credit" to sell on a FBI honeypot site to catch illegal carders.

Among other things, including installing scareware on clients computers to extort them. As well as the Miss America web cam hacking incident, all brought Blackshades under the microscope.

Edit:

Give this a read:

Blackshades was sold by the user Previously Known As...
Here's a link to his profile: https://hackforums.net/member.php?action=profile&uid=3183372

It was shutdown because the coders were caught because some kind of FBI forum was honeypotted in order to catch them. There was also a ton of illegal stuff on blackshades and it even mentioned the blqck hat things that were on there. Back in the day, everyone used this rat because it was so popular and cheap.

You could even deploy ransomware with it.
