Best way to turn gift cards into cash? - BinaryWho - Dec 25, 2016

Hey HF, haven't been on in a while. Christmas is today and I got a lot of gift cards, I'm okay with the gift cards I got but I like the freedom of having it as cash instead. For instance I have a 30 dollar irving card, I was thinking about buying a visa prepaid with the giftcard at an irving gas station, but I don't even know if its possible. I also have a 25 dollar walmart gift card, and I'm thinking about going there and buying a walmart visa. I heard about auction sites for the gift cards but there either scams or offer you 15 bucks for a 40 dollar card (probably exaggerating). My last resort was to go on facebook and try to sell my gift cards for like 5 dollars off face value. Maybe even take 20 dollars off if they buy all my gift cards. Can anybody help me out?

ps: i cant sell gift cards here for anybody who was going to mention that.

if you have a built reddit account check out r/giftcardexchange , you can get 80% face value for the better ones, some may only sell at 50-60% though.

The fact that they're physical cards will work in your favor if you sell them on Ebay since the buyer can't claim the code was fake.

I know coinstar will buy them, not sure at what rate though.

Either use r/giftcardexchange or search for an app. Pretty sure there's one specifically for selling gift cards!

Try localbitcoins but it depends on the gift card.

I think somebody should start up a gift card exchange website, it'd make things smooth.

thanks guys for all the tips. I'll either most likely use reddit GCX, or try to sell them on facebooks marketplace for like 5 bucks off, thanks.
