Self-Defense Learning - ๖ۣۜAnubis - Dec 27, 2016

I looking forward to teach myself self-defense. Anyone knows good resources on this?

Find the nearest Krav Maga place. Self learning will just be loads of youtube videos made by angsty teens trying to teach you to "street fight".

You can learn Mauy thai or jitsu

I'd recommend learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, the shit they do on the ground in the UFC. Go to your nearest center and learn there. I wouldn't recommend learning by yourself, the experience of doing it with people will really help you.

Would really recommend Mauy thai, its the best :)

Thanks fir your replies, will definitely look into it. I will probably try Jiu Jitsu.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the best "overall" self defense fighting imo since it's focused on grappling. Muay Tai is best known for striking techniques.

Krav Maga is superior in real world self defence. There is a reason special forces and commando units the world over choose this over other martial arts.

I will research a bit more before start. Will see the differences between the two and see wich one best suits my needs.

In my country it is said

"Don't fight thin, don't get scared of thick"

what it means do not judge a person if he can fight or not, learning to do self-defense is good, but bro in order to do self-defense you also should have heart to fight, if you are scared to fight then self-defense means nothing.

I recommend learning Jiu Jitsu too, best to learn it in a school where you can practice it with other students.

Street fighting is honestly the most pointless shit, when I see WSHH fights of people thinkin they all big and tough and shit they just coon swinging, actual no strategy nor form to their fighting haha. OP, choose a certain type of fighting (mine personally is boxing, all I train rn), for eg. you can train Taekwondo, Jiu jitsu, Judo, Boxing, Kick boxing etc, they are all different, and have different types. If you're wanting a basic fighting style I'd suggest going with kick boxing, not hard to learn (I mean you aren't focusing on JUST punching like boxing) and it will really help if you ever get jumped or some shit.

You clearly have absolutely zero knowledge of Krav Maga if you believe it to be about punching and swinging wildly... You are confusing drunk and high fucktards fighting on a street, with actual real World self defence and the mechanics there of.

It is used by special forces, police and commando units around the World because of it's effectiveness and comparative simplicity to learning a martial art and/or training for a specific martial art. If the defence of your life is important to you, go with Krav Maga.
