[Free Method] How to Get a Preowned Game From GameStop For Free - Yin Yang - Dec 30, 2016

Hiya folks,

I've been doing this method for awhile now. You're going to take advantage of GameStop's buy 2, get one free promo deal. For this to work, you need to obviously buy the 2 preowned games, and the cheaper one (your third) game, you get for free. This is not simply buying the 2, getting the third one for free, and returning the 2 and copping your third. DO NOT do it this way- you'll look like an idiot. GameStop's policy on used or preowned games is you can play it and return it within a week.

I haven't tried it online, but just do it in-store. You'll see a sign, like this:

Here's how you're going to do it, which recently worked for me:

1) Buy preowned Game X1 (I did Dark Souls 3) Game X2 ( Witcher 3) and your free third game (Fallout 4). I bought a new Skyrim as well, but you don't have to. Receipt:

2) Wait next day (go outside or something)

3) Come back to GameStop with Game 1 & 2 and say you didn't like it and want to exchange it. I exchanged it for Doom and a new copy of Dishonered 2 (note, you cannot return a new copy once it's opened). Here's the receipt I got:

4) Wait another day (don't just fap and be on HF all day)

5) Return the two new games. For me it was Doom and the unopened Dishonered 2. Copy of receipt:

So obviously, I got Fallout 4 for free. The reason it works is because of the different receipts. When you return the 2 new ones, only show them the recent copy of the receipt. This method doesn't require much SEing, but don't look like an idiot and try to have a conversation with the employee. You don't have to give a reason of a return, but say it was hard or something.

Note, I could've sold this method, but since I'm in the "holiday" spirit, wanted to share with my fellow gamers. Do this quickly since GameStop has a yearly quota they must meet which is why they have the deal going on. I also posted this in the gaming lounge thread, but that area is dead.

Looks like a nice method, but isn't this somewhat fraud?
I mean you are kinda stealing 'Fallout 4' from the store, on the other hand GameStop should've thought about this.

It's SEing in a way- no different than getting a free pizza or Starbucks.

It's ultimately GameStop's responsibility to check, like you said. But honestly the preowned fallout 4 was $20. Which means they probably bought it back for <$5. The loss is pocket change to them, to be honest

This is like another refurbished version of "buy one & get one free" and then returning the paid one to get the free item.

If you try returning the first two games like that, they will ask for the free game back as it shows on the receipt. The method is a workaround to it

That's pretty cool all together! Takes time and a little starting money, but would get it all back plus a free game!

This is lit, I'll be doing this to buy gifts for my friends LOL.

You should just PM people this method though, leechers will start selling it...

This can literally go for $50+ a copy.

Yup. Just an investment is required, but you get the $ back + the third game that is cheaper, free. Obviously if you want a decent free game, your investment would be much higher.

Most eBooks are commonly known methods anyways. And I didn't want my PM inbox to get spammed as well lol. I did want to sell it, but it depends on your location and if the GameStop offers the promotion.

So basically the receipt doesn't show fallout 4 anymore? When is the promo over? Going to give this a try soon.

Correct- it doesn't show it on the receipt and that's why it works. You're returning the new games that you exchanged the first and second one for.

I actually did this before, but since I knew the cashier, he didn't care. He no longer works at GameStop so I had to think of another way in doing it

10/10 method op. wish I had a console for this ;'3

Basically you need to use your money, but in the end, you get all your money back, PLUS a free game.
So you really can't lose.

Going to give it a try tmrw! Thanks bro :)
