Inactive Accounts Closed And Trust Scan - Omniscient - Jan 5, 2017

Just closed a ton of inactive accounts. We're having problems with them being sold to scam.

Accounts that aren't logged into for 1 year are subject to being permanently closed due to inactivity.

The following number of members were closed today:
550 Ub3r
2500 L33t
25,000 Regular Members

I have been planning to add to the TS page a "CLOSED REASON" mainly to prevent continued reports by members because accounts match. We do allow members with accounts closed due to inactivity to return.

Current reasons that you'll see are; Trolling, Multiple Accounts, Ban Evasion, Low Quality Posting, and Inactivity. If a closed account does not match one of those it simply shows as "N/A".

Example TS page of an inactive closed account:

Thank you.

EDIT: Added "Lost or Stolen", "Reputation Abuse" and "Deal Disputes" to reasons.

I am really glad you did this tbh, cuts down on the potential hackers to get accounts

Thanks Omni for doing this. It really helps keep the community safe.

Greatest thing you've done since that gay haircut joke you'd made...which was yesterday. Still great regardless. Thanks.

Thank you.

Hopefully this keeps away some of the fuckface scammers.

I too am glad you did this, as it frees up usernames others can use and it cuts down on many fraudulent cases.

* - Prophett - Jan 5, 2017

Good idea. It will definitely prevent users selling their accounts.

* - DevNet - Jan 5, 2017

Good thought. I'm assuming closed Ub3rs will have to go retake all steps to getting accepted and will lose their upgrades?

* - Cabo - Jan 5, 2017

I cannot wait for the closed reason on TS. Will be a great addition.

* - Parks - Jan 5, 2017

Great addition can't wait for my name to be pruned so I can finally get my name without a special character though!

Not trying to hint at anything haa haa

* - Niccolò Machiavelli - Jan 5, 2017

I think 1 year is reasonable, but I'm sure we will be seeing threads regardless trying to recover their accounts.

* - Mr.Peanut - Jan 5, 2017

Damn, rip to a few people who've been inactive then. Oh well they probably won't notice for another year lmaoo

That has already been added. Check the link in OP.

I think this is a great step forward to ensure the safety of HF and its members.
This will definitely get a decent amount of scammers to give up and move on from hacking HF accounts just to scam.

Great work.
