What's a decent download/upload speed? - Muddy - Jan 11, 2017

I just got a brand new Cybertron PC. Not for gaming, but for the space it has and lighting quick processing. For the price, I couldn't beat it. Today I went out and bought a dual-band wifi adapter to pickup my network and everything seems to be working out just well.

Here's my speedtest.net results:

Ping: 15ms
Download Speed: 15.43Mbps
Upload Speed: 12.05Mbps

Want to share your results? What would you consider to be an overall great computer speed test?

Your download speed is pretty shit to be honest
Why don't you use a ethernet cable?

We have our only cable connection to one room of the house. I actually have a guy coming over in a few days to bring a cable to my office so I can be hardwired through ethernet.

Nice.
Believe me, it's allot better to have a constant stable wired connection instead of a unstable slow wireless connection.
It was such a relief when I switched

At this point, I consider 50mbps to be good download and 10mbps to be ok upload speeds. Ideally, I'd like 100mbps down and 100mbps up, but that's asking a lot without paying a ton right now.

It's a pain to get a decent upload speed...
Never had my upload higher than 15mbps, wich still is good enough though

I live with 24mb/1.5mb at my office, actually get around 18ish and .9/ . Have several lines so it doesn't get bogged down, plus a google line for uploads.

Google Fiber is too unreliable to use as a daily driver in my area but we use it for uploads.

At my house I have 18/1 and it suits me fine (speedtest atm is 17.1/1.1). A higher upload would be nice but the download is just fine.

If your house is wired correctly powerline adapters work well.

I would say a "decent" internet speed would be 35/35 or 50/50. These a very common and also "decent" IMO.

I get 60mbps in the UK and that's download. upload is terrible at 3mbps
