Advice for a script kid - FearFactory - Jan 16, 2017 Excuse me if it is not the place to discuss about this subject here, Is Ethical Hacking fundemental for someone who wants to practise some Black Hat? * - Infamia - Jan 16, 2017 Ethical is quite the opposite of Black Hat, Ethical is White Hat. Unless you mean you should learn ethical hacking first, then yes- it'd be legal at first, but then you can professionally indulge yourself in spooky activities like [REDACTED] and [REDACTED]! :O * - FearFactory - Jan 16, 2017 (Jan 16, 2017 01:46 PM)Infamia Wrote: Ethical is quite the opposite of Black Hat, Ethical is White Hat.Knowing the security's weaknesess may look important for someone who wants to exploit them.. Isn t it? * - Infamia - Jan 16, 2017 (Jan 16, 2017 01:48 PM)FearFactory Wrote: Knowing the security's weaknesess may look important for someone who wants to exploit them.. Isn t it? indeed * - PSEUCHO - Jan 16, 2017 Well most hacking tools are used by both, blackhats and whitehats So if you learn whitehat hacking, you can decide if you want to use your knowledge to become a blackhat or a whitehat But if you want to become a blackhat then you will need to know some things that whitehat tutorials won't include * - FractumSeraph - Jan 16, 2017 If you can be a little bit more specific about what you want to learn I can give you a better answer. But either way, It's always good to know about both sides, good and bad. Knowing about one will help you with the other. And honestly a lot of times there isn't much difference. * - Faith Connors - Jan 16, 2017 Why do people think whitehat and blackhat hacking are different, they are quite literally fundamentally identical. Only difference is motive. * - Infamia - Jan 16, 2017 (Jan 16, 2017 01:57 PM)Faith Connors Wrote: Why do people think whitehat and blackhat hacking are different, they are quite literally fundamentally identical. Different motive. A whitehat will still know how to stay anonymous if needed. /Thread * - FractumSeraph - Jan 16, 2017 (Jan 16, 2017 02:02 PM)Faith Connors Wrote: Exactly. Different motive. That, and the majority of the time a white hat hacker will have the all important get out of jail for free papers and not have to worry about it. Aside from that it doesn't matter which hat you're using. If you're stealing info from a website to sell it or to put it in a report the technique is the same. * - FearFactory - Jan 16, 2017 I started reading ''Hacking for dummies'', Is it a good book to read? I mean it explains only the purposes of Ethical Hacking but I see not very much application. * - Ѕeptic - Jan 16, 2017 (Jan 16, 2017 02:31 PM)FearFactory Wrote: I started reading ''Hacking for dummies'', Is it a good book to read? I mean it explains only the purposes of Ethical Hacking but I see not very much application. I haven't read that book but I highly recommend the e-book "The Hacker Ethos" written by True Demon on HF. You can find his free version of the e-book in his thread. I can't post the link so you'll have to search for it by yourself in the HF search bar. Goodluck on your journey my friend. 🎉 |
