Project Management Software, Worth it? - t0rch - Jan 23, 2017 Is there any particular benefit of Project Management Software over a whiteboard, and a notebook? * - webdev77 - Jan 23, 2017 Depends on what the project is and how organized you are. Obviously from a financial standpoint there is a point that it's worth getting better management tools otherwise no developers would produce the software. * - datguy.dev - Jan 23, 2017 Are you honestly comparing Evernote to a notebook? That is like comparing floppy disks to DropBox. However, it could depend on the scope of the project and who is involved. Spending the time making a schedule or educating others about the tools can either increase or decrease productivity. Ideally you'd go with a suite that is all integrated. For instance, if you have a group where all members are part of a domain and entitled to MS Office, than you could use tools like Onedrive, Sharepoint, and MS Project. Where everyone already has access, experience, and no excuse not to. I've found the always-on connectivity aspect of these types of software are great for weeding out irresponsible people early. I'd highly suggest dedicating a someone to project manager - who only manages. Otherwise, you'll end up stuck in other shitty peoples shit, instead of your own. :D Trust me, I've had to many times before and I wanted to smash my head through my desk. |
