VeraCrypt volume not decryptable, I have rescue disk - Mr Kake - Jan 29, 2017 Hello there, so I have been trying to get my primary SSD decrypted. The reason any issues occurred was because I was installing Windows 10 to my Secondary hard drive when the installer decided "Hey! Let me just overwrite your MBR that has veracrypt in it!". I thought to myself, No worries! Since I had my rescue disk. So let's start with my issues with my rescue disk. The first time I restored veracrypt bootloader and tried logging in, my password was correct but it said "No bootable partition found!". Next, I decided to permanently decrypt my drive to prevent further data loss. It was going good until around ~25 GB mark when it said it had a write error (128) and was asking me if I wanted to skip it. I said Yes, and now what happened it got stuck, nothing was happening. I waited 5 minutes of no output after I pressed Y and decided to defer and try again. I press ESC and nothing happened. I spammed like 20 times nothing happened. 5-10 minutes after this it said "Updating headers..." but not it started spamming "Read error: 128 Drive: 0 Sector: 62" and nothing else. This caused me to restart the whole process. Same read error second try (image): Spoiler (Click to View) Third try I tried pressing Y instead of N when it says a bad sector, now it has been stuck at the same mb (131498) for about 30 minutes. (image): Spoiler (Click to View) So now I am on that Win10 installation and I was able to download VeraCrypt, Volumes - > Mount Volume with Options - > Mount partition using system encryption without Pre-Boot authentication and I was able to mount it to drive E:\. Sadly, this is what happens when I try accessing it: ![]() ![]() I really would not like to lose my data, I have my rescue disk, my password, and everything else I might need. Please help :( * - archangel.dmitry - Jan 29, 2017 You interrupted decrypting, of course, it is unreadable now. You will have to look deeper in VeraCrypt forums. * - Mr Kake - Jan 29, 2017 (Jan 29, 2017 11:42 AM)archangel.dmitry Wrote: You interrupted decrypting, of course, it is unreadable now.
