ISP Blocked access to modem - Woodro575 - Feb 12, 2017 So my ISP has blocked access to my modem. Instead of the standard admin/admin to login they have switched the password to something else. Is there a way for me to break this password. It is so that I may forward my own ports since the tech refuses to help me in this matter. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. * - Karma18 - Feb 12, 2017 Your ISP wouldn't off blocked you out of your default gateway. There is either a reset password feature where you can input your router SSID or something like that or either call you ISP to be guided to reset the password. * - DrDaddy - Feb 12, 2017 all you can try to do is to reset it to factory defaults which may clear out any ISP needed information from it also try asking your provider for a separate modem/router instead of using gateway. * - Woodro575 - Feb 12, 2017 A tech got mad when I was accessing the gateway. Said I ws a hacker and there was no way that I would know the default password unless I was a hacker. Small town struggles. * - BlazinBlunts - Feb 12, 2017 Some ISPs do not allow the consumer to edit the Modem settings in any way unless they approve of it * - HexaCrypt - Feb 12, 2017 (Feb 12, 2017 07:20 AM)Member Berries Wrote: Some ISPs do not allow the consumer to edit the Modem settings in any way unless they approve of itHow can ISP do that without physical access to modem/router * - SysAdmin - Feb 12, 2017 (Feb 12, 2017 01:35 PM)HexaCrypt Wrote: How can ISP do that without physical access to modem/router Most ISP's nowadays have Remote Access to your router, hence why they can help you when you're having problems with it. * - -_-Error 404-_- - Feb 12, 2017 Try to reset your router back to original settings. If that doesnt fix your problem you may need to contact your ISP. * - HexaCrypt - Feb 13, 2017 (Feb 12, 2017 04:01 PM)SysAdmin Wrote: Most ISP's nowadays have Remote Access to your router, hence why they can help you when you're having problems with it.thats not good for user privacy. luckily in my country ISP have no access towards our router/modem * - itechankit - Feb 13, 2017 I remember there is rom0 method.....working in old routers.I am also in computer hardware ams network ing field.I have used it many times ti gain access if someone forgets. * - pomwtin - Feb 13, 2017 If your modem supports upnp use miranda to portforward- you won't need login credentials. If you ISP restricts you in such way, it would probably be best co change it. |
