Allowed to give away legally purchased steam game codes? - CanisMajoris - Feb 13, 2017

Hello, I purchased a game bundle off of G2A, but only wanted 2 out of the 5 games. The other 3 I would like to give to members under the Free Giveaways and services subforum. I dove into the rules to see what it said about it. I found the rule which states:

Steam Gifts
We don't allow selling of Steam games as keys or gifts. You may only sell Steam accounts in the Non-Free Accounts forum in the Marketplace.

I was unsure if this applied to them being given away, or if it was a blanket rule that prohibits giveways as well as selling. Thank you for the information. I will not make a thread until I hear back to avoid breaking any rules.

No, you are not allowed to give them away.

Ok, thanks for the response. Ill just send them to a friend on steam or something. Wish I could give back to the community but I understand their reasoning behind it. People would all the time be buying cheap games for a few cents and giving them out to farm rep. Thanks again for the quick response!

There's a rule that forbids giving away keys as we're not a warez forum.

Quote:Product Keys, Cracks and Unlicensed Software
Product keys, key gens, serials and software cracks discussion or linking is not allowed.. This includes the selling, trading, or requesting of any illegal unlicensed product keys. HF is not a warez forum and we will not tolerate our site being used as one.

Hope that clears it up for you.
