License Transfer Help - Wheezy Gang - Feb 15, 2017
So with new games reaching the $80 CAD price, it's really expensive to now buy games. A friend of mine had an idea, we would each put in $40 to buy the game online, then license transfer it to the other persons console.
Would this actually work?
Let me explain the situation in detail.
Gamertag A is the home account on Xbox A
Gamertag B is the home account on Xbox B
Gamertag A buy's a brand new game from the xbox marketplace, downloads it to Xbox A. Gamertag B then puts Gamertag A onto Xbox B, transfers the newly bought game to his console.
Would both Gamertag A and B be able to play the new game on their own Xboxs, at the same time?

Yes, as long as the account is eligible to license transfer.

Yes I did this with people all the time. Have 1 person buy it on their console then the other can license transfer or just play it on the account that has it purchased (you would not need to license transfer it) theres also a way where you can load the game on the account that purchased the game then unplug your ethernet and it will sign you out then just sign into your other account and you both will be on the game.

Is this for XB1 or 360? im assuming xb1 because 2017
have your friend sign into his account on your xbox, set your xbox as his home console
sign into your friends xbox with your account, set his xbox as your home console
any games purchased in the future on either account will be playable on both consoles
if ur talking about 360 which im pretty sure u are cuz u said license transfer, yeah a license transfer will work, but you can only do a license transfer every 4 months.
in this case, download as much stuff as u can during the license transfer
theres another way u can both have the game without license transferring but im not sure if this even works anymore
Gamertag A signs in to Xbox B (or vice versa), buys game, installs, Gamertag A signs back into their own Xbox, installs game, you should both be able to play the game and this wont require a license transfer
i havent done this method in YEARS though so i dont even know if it still actually works but worth a shot
you can also only change your home console (xb1) 3 times a year, not sure if its every 4 months but i know its 3 times a year

it still works exactly the same lol I still do it till this day
