Comodo Internet Security - demonlordrazgriz - Feb 23, 2017 never seen anybody suggest comodo to anyone but i've been using it for years now and had no problems with it and i run malwarebytes with it just wanna know why everyone uses kaspersky and norton or even avast has anyone else tried comodo? what are your thoughts on it? i'm new here so go easy on me edit: just checked out the anti-virus recommendations and saw comodo towards the middle * - Captain Steve Rogers - Feb 24, 2017 Personally I have never tested Comodo. I'm using ESET as of now and it's very good. * - mediamad - Feb 24, 2017 I don't like either of the two. Eset is horrible if you have a slower computer. Comodo is insanely complicated for a novice user. I mean they both have "smart" settings that you can run with, but to be honest, I would honestly say that a next gen hardware firewall/gateway will be insanely better than any software. The malware is so bad right now. No one has any clue how bad everyone is getting their data stolen on a daily basis. It's blowing my mind. Has anyone ever looked at your windows firewall rules? I'm curious to know if anyone even bothers to check. I've met so many IT people that just automatically trust and assume that windows firewall is plenty of protection. Meanwhile they have rules allowing WAN TO LAN for ALL DIFFERENT KINDS OF SERVICES!!! There's "Alljoyn Router" does anyone even realize how that's on everyone's inbound and outbound rules by default? Not to mention all the rest of the remote access rules turned on by default. Alljoyn is a technology that pretty much allows any of your iot devices to connect seamlessly. Windows 10 syncs to your cell phone without you even knowing!! If your Bluetooth is on, you're so screwed. If a hacker got to your computer, he also immediately has access to everything else. I can't believe I don't ever see anyone complaining or every thinking to write about the default firewlll rules. SMH Oh and you should DEFINITELY be using Sandboxie. That allows you to use a sandboxes browser of your choice and you can download shit and not care if it may be malicious because it's stuck in the sandbox. You can test out new programs and what not and if there is something wrong, you can wipe the content of the sandbox easily. Try it out- sandboxie dot com * - TrackPro+ - Feb 26, 2017 (Feb 24, 2017 02:16 PM)mediamad Wrote: I don't like either of the two. Eset is horrible if you have a slower computer. I understand the need to vent about window vulnerabilities, but instead of venting how about making a tutorial of how we can patch these system errors. Pretty sure you'll be recognized for making a HQ post that helps the community . * - ๖ۣۜÑåzgйŀ - Mar 2, 2017 (Feb 26, 2017 07:12 PM)LA Capone Wrote: I understand the need to vent about window vulnerabilities, but instead of venting how about making a tutorial of how we can patch these system errors. Pretty sure you'll be recognized for making a HQ post that helps the community . won't make a difference since every computer is different some firewall rules wouldn't apply to you as it would to someone else just do a port scan check whats open and block those ports accordingly (easier said then done but whatevs) and using sandboxie is easy peasy * - Sparkfear - Mar 3, 2017 I've tried Comodo before but it was too advanced for my liking. * - Hackoo - Mar 3, 2017 I tried comodo before he has a good firewall and a secure DNS ✌ 👍 |
