iPhone 6 Plus faulty charge port - SIM-403479 - Feb 26, 2017

Anybody know how to fix this?

It still works if you bend the charger in to the port.

I want to follow this post, I seem to have had the same damn problem! Have gone thru multiple charger cords and still happens...

It's really intricate to DIY replace this. I'd take it to the Apple store to have them do it.

If that's really out of the question and you want to play around with your $800 phone, here's a guide.

If I take it to the Apple store will it cost a lot?

I am planning on selling the phone.

When you hear the word Apple, you should always expect whatever you're looking for to cost an unreasonable amount of money. But it's that reason specifically that you can resell the phone for a decent amount of money.

Well the phone is only worth like 250$ now on ebay.

So I don't really want to pay more than 40$ to fix it.

The part is $10 on eBay. Obviously not OEM, and it's easy to replace it yourself.

I disagree with "ease". There are certain parts of the operation where he could completely break his phone. For sure, a cheaper alternative, but he should consider the risks.

Someone I knew had a iPhone 6 Plus through their company that was "broken", so they gave it to me. I got the standard "accessory not supported" error, and what I figured out was that it charged as long as it was fully shut off. I'm still waiting to replace it, and it seems like the eBay product is a good option.

Indeed. I tried to fix this problem with my 5c before and fucked a lot of things up.

Also, the screws are tiny, and they can get lost very easily, and that was the case with me. Lost a few screws and got one stuck underneath all the circuits.

I'm just not going to replace it. I only use mine as a jailbroken device, so I just charge it every few nights and use it whenever I need it. If you want to replace yours, I'd just advise you to go to the Apple store. It's not worth breaking a $250 device, because you wanted to pay a bit less money.

Well, I honestly don't know what's so hard about it, but maybe it's just me. There are 3 big and around 4 small screws, the entire part goes out, so it's not that hard once you get the hang of it. :)

Also, the 5C is easier than the 6.

Just take a paperclip or whatever and clean your lightning slot. It's probably full of dust. Seen this a couple of times and every time I solved it with just cleaning. If that doesnt work Aliexpress is your answer.

I have already tried this. The port just seems a lot larger now. The charger easily falls out.

I'll take it to Apple see what they charge.

My dad had the same problem with his iphone 5 and he had it replace for about €50 i think, it wasn't super expensive to replace afaik.
