UK People Lookup (Tutorial) - Plugs The Plug - Feb 27, 2017 UK People Lookup
==================== ==================== As i'm sure most people will confirm, searching for people in the US is quite simple due to the masses of sites that allow you to perform searches. However, there are much less UK lookup sites, this does not mean there aren't any though. ==================== ==================== A site i'm sure most people know is: http://www.192.com/ If you find any free results, you will have got their address. You will have to register if you want the other information like phone number, but it shouldn't take long to register for free. This is a fairly good site to start with if you are searching for someone within the UK. However, many results you will find on here are private so you would have to pay for the results. However, the private results still can show an age range and any other occupants living in the property with them. ==================== ==================== My personal favourite for UK lookups is: http://www.thephonebook.bt.com/ All results on here are free and there is a lot of people indexed in here. You can search for businesses or people. All you need to do is input a surname and a general location and it will show results. It will show you an address and home phone number straight away on the page, no need for registering, no verifying, nothing. I suppose the possible downfall is that the person would have to be using a BT landline. However, a lot of people in the UK tend to use this as they are one of the more popular ones to use. ==================== ==================== This is quite a good website for getting information on births, marriages and general people searches: http://www.rootsuk.com It has come to my attention that it asks you to sign in when you try searching now, it didn't do this last week. So keep that in mind, but it is good for finding marriages and where they happened, births and people which will show where they are from as well. You have credits on this website so it's not amazing, but you do start off with some free credits. ==================== ==================== This website is good for unique sort of names: http://www.phoneebook.co.uk/ The reason I say this is for unique names is because you can search for a first and second name and it will bring up one set of details. However, I suppose you could do this for all names because you can go to the bottom of the results and it allows you to choose a country if that isn't the right person so you could click on a country and it will show a list of all of the results. ==================== ==================== We don't post enough in this section, it is my favourite section, we need to be more active in here. 🤝 Not sure about the general looks of the thread, I feel like it needs colour, but can't seem to get anything to look good. If anything is wrong in here or you would like to add anything, please just leave a reply. * - Similarity - Feb 27, 2017 Amazing thread! Thank you dude! Added to bookmarks :) No problem man, thought I would try to help some people out and honestly I just want to try make this section more active. Personally, this is my favourite section to be in but there are hardly ever any posts. Hope this helps you man 🤝 * - JohnDoeYo - Feb 27, 2017 Nice tutorial and very helpful. A few that I use regularly for the same purposes are Freefindpeopleuk. Com Britishphonebook. Com I do agree with you though, I have a huge interest in this stuff but there appears to not be alot of new posts or active members in here especially in relation to the UK! I also second the motion that it seems to be so much easier in America!! * - Plugs The Plug - Feb 27, 2017 (Feb 27, 2017 03:48 PM)JohnDoeYo Wrote: Nice tutorial and very helpful. I was aware of the Britishphonebook.com, I have used it before, it does get some good results. I haven't seen the Freefindpeopleuk.com before but I just tried it out and it seems pretty good. However, I have to wait 4 minutes to get the results for each search? Thanks for the reply :) * - JohnDoeYo - Mar 2, 2017 FFPuk is a pretty good site with a large database that I use frequently and has out performed alot of other sites I used to use, the time restricted waiting doesnt bother me too much it is free after all! I will be writing up some more tutorials/tricks of my own over the next fortnight or so! |
