Please help me proofread my homework! - LionHeart˜ - Mar 2, 2017

First of all, thanks for taking your time to proofread my work. It's not fair of me for you to do the work, so I'll attempt it and see what you guys have to say.

Quote:Judy and Linda agree to share the cost of a $21 pizza based on how much each ate. If Judy ate 3/4 of the amount that Linda ate, How much should each pay?

Pizza = $21

Judy = 3/4x
Linda = x

Equation created from information given:

3/4x + x = 21

Multiply both sides by 4 to remove fraction

3x+4x=84
7x=84

Divide both sides by 7

x = 12
Double-checking using new x value:

3/4x X 12/1 = 36/4 = 9

Judy pays $9, Linda $12
