Dawn - Student Recruitment

Dawn is a group focused on bettering its members through education and guidance. For now, we are holding recruitment in order to find some new students. We are looking for those that strive to improve themselves through the process of learning. Additionally, the ideal candidate provides an overall positive influence to the forum.

Our group currently offer courses in graphics (Photoshop*), video editing (Sony Vegas Pro*), web development (for the web development course, apply here), and MyBB forum development (for the forum development course, apply here). As of now, our courses are geared towards beginners, so please consider your level of expertise before applying. Courses are being modified from time to time, so it's very possible we'll offer more subjects with varying degrees of difficulty in the future. Fortunately, one of the benefits of being in the group is that you have the opportunity to enjoy the new courses as they come into being.

Below is the format for your application. Please take your time applying, and remember that the more details you provide, the better your chances of gaining entry.

* - Reeces - Mar 7, 2017

Why would you be a good fit for Dawn?
> I'm relatively new to the forums. I've been quite active over the last few months and I'm only coming on more and more every day. Im really enjoying my time here and want to get involved more. I'm friendly, can have a joke etc and can fit in well and I enjoy talking to new people.

What knowledge do you currently possess in the subjects of the courses listed?
> I'm already an average graphic designer but I by no means think I'm the best. I still have a lot to learn and am very interested to see what new skills I could pick up. Also, I really enjoying helping people. I currently upload a lot of my PSDs to YouTube and sellfy and currently average aorund 1-2K downloads per month on my work. So not only would this help me and benefit me, it would also help out a bunch of other people whom download my PSDs.

Also I can use AE to edit basic videos however I've not delved too far into before other than using Element 3D to make some 3D work and I can use Sony Vegas for normal video editing and come more complex stuff

> Graphic design. I'm quite knowledgeable and I may not be a great designer but I know what I'm talking about and know how to use all the Photoshop tools and a few plug ins like MBL etc.

Which courses are you interested in? (answering with "all" is okay)
> All, although I'd love to improve on my graphic design and video editing skills, I've always been interested in programming and wouldn't mind starting to learn some new things, as for Russian, I've always just thought the idea of being able to fluently speak another language is rather amazing.

ENMAFIA2 APPLICATION

Why would you be a good fit for Dawn?
>
I think that I would be a great member as I'm really into graphic design and
video editing, in fact, I'm currently getting into programming. I could help
other people with graphic design and if there are good video editing tuts I am
very interested in them because I am okay with video editing but not as
confortable in recording and camera theory. Russian might also be something cool
to learn as there are big hacking forums operating in russian.

What knowledge do you currently possess in the subjects of the courses listed?
>
I have been designing and editing video for a while now and I really love it. I do
commission work from time to time but it's not something regular. I know HTML and CSS and
I'm currently looking up some python but Java and C++ are looking interesting too. I am able
to understand the sintax and what's doing but I am not able to program without any help or
internet (this probably means I need some more practice).
About Russian I can't say much but what I can hear in CS:GO.

Are there any fields of knowledge where you personally excel?
>
Graphic Design might be my excel.

Which courses are you interested in? (answering with "all" is okay)
>
Being totally honest I'm most intrigued in all but Russian. However, I find the
Russian course something curious.

Will you actively participate in your enrolled courses?
>
If they are worth something which it seems they will then I can assure yes.

Do you understand that failure to participate in your enrolled courses is grounds for immediate removal from the group?
>
Yes, however I would love to see all the courses first and check the ones that I
am most interested in so I can have enough time for the tasks.

Thanks for reading my application, have a nice day.
