Just Switched to Ethernet - Applause - Mar 19, 2017

I've been living with USB Wifi Adapters, and Powerline adapters for over a year now. And it was shit. I even went as far as to purchase a PCI-E wifi card, but to no avail. I finally mustered up the courage to drill many a hole in my house in order to hook up an ethernet cord to my router that is, quite literally, on the opposite side of my house. Honestly, it was a hard process since I didn't know exactly where I was drilling, my dad finally had to step in and help me find a way to get into the basement from the main floor. It took three hours. Was it worth it? Yes.

I get your old speeds on Ethernet. So yeah, It was worth it.

Damn, look at the difference. Did you know that by switching cables you can get even faster?

You can get the same speeds on a good high performance WiFi adapter supporting 500mbps+ and 5Ghz networks.

Move router closer to your computer = problem solved? Or you could have used a wifi repeater to extend the range you can receive.

And I just looked to my left for half a second.

Thanks for the update, OP.

My cable has to run 30m to get to my pc haha.

Holy fuck, your router must've been really far or really shit.
Nice speedgasm I got there.

Are you sure about it? As it sounds too good to be true.

I just ran a cable all over my house to my desktop...I believe you can buy wifi cards that are better at keep the speed after either penetrating the walls or bouncing off them to get from the router and then to the card itself...maybe a better router would of done the same but at much more of a cost. 🤝
