Sometimes it shows that some users are offline while they are online for example if someone is sharing me screen on skype and is logged in to HF i still see that they are offline.

It means that they are appearing offline. L33Ts can appear offline and they'll be unseen to normal members but ub3rs can still see that they are online. Ub3rs can appear offline and they will be shown as offline to both l33ts and normal members, but not other ub3rs.

Read the post above. You can do it but ub3rs and l33ts will still see you online. I'm not sure how it works between two normal members though.

Its also possible HF isn't seeing you online. Sometimes I will be browsing and my status will go offline. Not sure what causes it though.

Normal members can't see other normal members who are invisible.

Also OP, if you're on a HF page, and haven't checked any other pages for like 5 minutes, you'll appear offline..
To answer your original question, members can hide themselves from online list.
