Where to get a tattoo designed? - Motiv - Apr 8, 2017 So I'm looking at getting a tattoo on my shoulder blade, but I don't really like the idea of finding tattoos online since it's unoriginal and not specific for me. Do I get a tattoo designed at the shop where I get it done? The only tattoo I have is a quote, so I just chose a font and didn't need it designed. * - Ethereum - Apr 8, 2017 The best way to find a tattoo parlor is to find someone in your local area with a tattoo you like and ask them where it was done. * - Motiv - Apr 8, 2017 (Apr 8, 2017 08:18 PM)Ethereum Wrote: The best way to find a tattoo parlor is to find someone in your local area with a tattoo you like and ask them where it was done. I have a place where I've gotten a tattoo, I'm wondering if they design them as well, or if it's done somewhere else. * - Omniscient - Apr 8, 2017 The actual tattoo artist should design it themselves. You should search for someone that does work similar to what you want. Artists usually have specialties. If you see someone with a tat that you like feel free to ask them if it was an artist in-town that you can visit. Definitely YELP and do online searches for the artist before you get the work done too. * - Motiv - Apr 8, 2017 (Apr 8, 2017 08:25 PM)Omniscient Wrote: The actual tattoo artist should design it themselves. I want to get either a snake eye/snake head, but I'm not tryna copy something from google images like a lot of people do. Gonna have someone draw it up I think. * - oRequiem - Apr 8, 2017 (Apr 8, 2017 08:27 PM)Motiv Wrote: Alright, thanks. Yeah, have some people draw it up and see if you like it. Have a lot of thoughts on the tattoos you want, you don't want to regret it later. Just call up some artists after seeing their work and see what they can do. If you like it, schedule an appointment up and you're good to go. Good luck! * - necr0dr - Apr 8, 2017 You can hire artists for a piece, such as looking on DeviantArt. But as Omniscient said it is wise to let the tattoo artist do that as it will be within their ability. Personally I get artists on DA to create a piece and then take it to the tattoo shop and get them to convert it into something they can work on. * - test - Apr 8, 2017 You can find artists online that would be willing to do it but I think most tattoo artists prefer to do it themselves. * - Motiv - Apr 9, 2017 (Apr 8, 2017 11:30 PM)oRequiem Wrote: Yeah, have some people draw it up and see if you like it. That's the plan. I'm gonna be taking a while on this since I'm using it as sorta a reward haha. Once I reach 160lbs from lifting I'm getting my second tattoo. I think it'd be better to have the artist do it so they make what they're comfortable tattooing on me. * - oRequiem - Apr 9, 2017 (Apr 9, 2017 08:31 AM)Motiv Wrote: That's the plan. I'm still bulking since I'm underweight so I can't get my sleeve fully finished. I'm almost done my half sleeve and going back for my second session on the 14th of this month. Once that's done, I might be done with tattoos until I'm done bulking and more lean for the other half of my right arm. * - Motiv - Apr 9, 2017 (Apr 9, 2017 09:10 AM)oRequiem Wrote: I know what you mean. Yeah, I'm just bulking for next wrestling season. Getting sick of my weight class. 2 months ago I was 126 due to cutting so much weight, but I'm already up to 152. I have 10-11% body fat so I don't need to lose any before my bulk, should only take a few more weeks. |
