Linux (centos) install help - wanbetaaler - Apr 10, 2017 Hello fellow HQ HF members, I bought a vps that should be able to do the following things; -web hosting -database -php -nodejs -file hosting -backup system -ftp management -vpn specs: 2 cores 4.096 MB RAM 150gb SSD 5000 GB DATA and i bought a big storage of 2TB with it. I rarely use command line.. (always worked with windows, but its time to step to the linux side) So i choose CentOS to be my main os (because i heard most developers use this OS and its free) Currently i am stuck at the following decision. It is asking me to choose a Base Environment, and I do not know what i should choose! This is where you step in. I googled some bits and bytes about it. I saw some personal recomendations to other people but I'd like to hear some tips and stuff from the guys in this community. So tbh if i can i dont want to go PURE command line only. if it is possible for me to have a GUI that would be nice. but if its not recommended at its highest grade, I wont do it. I was thinking of installing the: Development and Creative Workstation or the Server with GUI or the Basic Web Server. What do you think i should install (FIRE AWAY) * - Charger - Apr 10, 2017 https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-linux-apache-mysql-php-lamp-stack-on-centos-6 * - wanbetaaler - Apr 10, 2017 (Apr 10, 2017 07:56 AM)Charger Wrote: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-linux-apache-mysql-php-lamp-stack-on-centos-6 Thank you for your input.
