Looking to buy a 120/144Hz Gaming Monitor - The Axe - Apr 11, 2017 Hello all, I have a gaming system with the following setup: Intel i5 3750k RX 480 (Soon) MSI G45 Z77A Motherboard I have a budget of ~$230, but I'm looking to spend the least possible, I am willing to buy a used monitor or one with dead pixels. I will mostly be using the monitor for gaming and general web browsing, I'd prefer Display Port compatible monitors if possible. Any recommendations for some heavy gaming sessions? Thanks so much! * - Ultra Instinct - Apr 11, 2017 I repeat, don't buy an RX 480 now. In a couple of days, the new RX 500 series will be replacing them. * - Hyperhacktive - Apr 11, 2017 If you can afford to spend a little more I recommend you the Asus VG248QE, this is a great monitor * - Steve Kosh - Apr 11, 2017 http://pcpartpicker.com/product/FZJkcf/acer-xf240h-240-144hz-monitor-umfx0aa001 1080p 144Hz FreeSync * - webdev77 - Apr 11, 2017 (Apr 11, 2017 04:46 PM)NightGhoul Wrote: I repeat, don't buy an RX 480 now. In less then a couple of days, the new RX 500 series will be replacing them. Except that most of them might be rebrands, so performance will only be marginally better. Depends if you value saving money or having a little extra performance more. * - The Axe - Apr 11, 2017 Thank you very much for the Acer and Asus recommendations, I've had good experiences with Asus monitors in the past. I have read about the re-branding theories and it seems like the best course of action is too wait until the 500 series drops and then check performance reports. If the 400 series drops significantly in price I might have to go with that option due to the convenience! * - Gt403cyl - Apr 11, 2017 (Apr 11, 2017 05:18 PM)webdev77 Wrote: Except that most of them might be rebrands, so performance will only be marginally better.
