Tony Stark's Testimonial, A Journey, A Dream. - Tony Stark - May 2, 2017 Hello Friends, Thank you for clicking on my thread, I hope you enjoy reading my story on Hack Forums and I hope it inspires you to really enjoy and get involved with the amazing community we have here! You life could be taking shape in-front of your eyes and you may not even know it! The Past I joined Hack Forums 6 years and 6 months ago, on the ironic date of 10-10-2010, I registered on HF with the username ‘Iron God’, not knowing the LONG and REWARDING journey that awaited me ahead. Upon joining I found a vast community of 170,000 members who also had a passion for all things tech, I was instantly hooked at this ‘underground’ community, filled with a wealth of information and extremely knowledgeable members. The members I saw on this forum, inspired me to become the person I am today. I spent A LOT of time, reading and trying tutorials in a range of fields from; Graphic design, pentesting, coding, marketing and more, achieving things most kids would have no interest in at my age. The skills I picked up were nothing that was even close to what I learnt in my time in schooling. I was learning real job ready skills and didn’t even realize since I was having so much fun. I was building my future career, while my parents thought I was wasting my time on some random website. The Present Fast forward a few years and I have touched my toes in so many fields, I’ve lost track. But I have an extensive port-folio of all my activities, that being my HF Profile. When job hunting time came for my first job, I had an amazing skill set, of which I had plenty of evidence to show employers of what I am capable off. I work part time at Australia’s biggest telecommunications company as a Customer Advisor and Technician, I got this job primarily due to the skills sets I acquired on HF, with no prior formal employment history. I am also a Brand Ambassador for Google, once again using my creative skills which were sparked here on Hack Forums. For first jobs, my life has really been set up on the right path, I look forward to my future employment opportunities and will forever hold HF in my heart. I continue to do a bunch of freelance work and social media management on the side too, which has created a solid income for myself. I currently study a Bachelor of Cybersecurity, a field that didn’t even exist upon joining the forum and now I get to study and be employed in my hobby. I recently found a vulnerability with Spotify, using skills I learnt on HF and was rewarded with my find, this is will certainly help me out on my CV. You can truly say I am very happy with my life, where I am and what I’ve achieved. The Future Hack Forums has a very dear place in life, I love seeing members interact, learn and create as it reminds me of myself growing up on here, which I very much did. I made life long, real friends from this forum and I encourage you to build your connections, respect each other and help each other. I really feel like a teacher now, watching students (members) graduate, move on with their lives and a whole new eager generation of members coming in each year. I now focus on ensuring members have a safe environment to have the same experiences and opportunities I have been blessed with having. I hope that someone will be inspired by my story, thank you to all the members who make up the community and helped shape me to the person I am today. Thank you Omniscient for creating this amazing platform for us, your success has branched out a lot further then I think you ever would have imagined. I leave you all with a final quote; Quote:Do the difficult things while they are easy and do the great things while they are small. A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step. Sincerely, Tony Stark |
