Trying to boot ophcrack livecd. burned to CD, everything seems to go fine, it boots and then it goes to a black screen and nothing happens. ive searched for an answer to this everywhere it seems. any help would be very appreciated.

Same problem. Did you choose MBR style while burnig ? I think you should disable UEFI/Secure boot, and go to BIOS in order to boot in your LiveCD
