I don't think siege is used for DDoS attacks, but for DoS instead, and there actually are better tools for it, siege was developed as a testing utility, so it's not going to perform as well as a software that is specifically crafted to launch DoS attacks.

Toni88 is correct. I doubt it works as well as a real DoS program, but certainly not any better. Also yeah, it's a DoS
