File Ownership Question - F11 - May 27, 2017 So, I know how to take ownership and full control of files and such, but I was just wondering if it's fully safe? I don't need ownership of just certain folders, I was thinking I could just take full control and ownership of the c drive itself and that give me full control / permissions for anything within the c drive. Is this correct? I just don't wanna have to bother doing it folder by folder if and when I need to in the future. * - hasanas - May 28, 2017 It should be completely safe unless you start doing really sketchy stuff, just be careful, but other than that, you should be OK * - F11 - May 28, 2017 (May 28, 2017 09:19 AM)hasanas Wrote: It should be completely safe unless you start doing really sketchy stuff, just be careful, but other than that, you should be OK Ok, thanks. I don't do anything 'sketchy', so I'm not worried about that. Just wanted to make sure it didn't affect anything the pc does. * - RyanLa - May 28, 2017 Just as hasanas said, it's safe unless you do something that could damage your pc * - zakhol - Jun 25, 2017 Some password manager will have the features of files manger without any files lost * - Striploin - Jul 10, 2017 Create a blank file called Take Ownership.reg Open with your favorite text editor and paste the following Code [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell\runas]This will add a Context menu option that will take the ownership of the selected files. |
