ACCESSING BLOCKED WEBSITES AT OFFICE - under_taker89 - Jun 9, 2017

Hi All,

Need a help from you all. Most of the popular sites including youtube and facebook are blocked at office. I tried to use proxies and vpns, but still they are blocked. Can anybody advise me an advance way to unblock these sites?

I tried tor browser. But Tor browser can't connect. It has also blocked I guess

It says something called fortiguard web filtering. Is there any way to bypass that? I tried google and did everything, But couldn't bypass it

You need 1 of 2 things:
1. Access to firewall to create an exception
2. An untagged vpn ip address (usually paid)

Can you ping sites? Traceroute? Details babe

Just use a vpn you can also use browser based vpn's those should work.

What VPN's did you use, ones with logs, free public vpns, have you tried openvpn? What OS are you? What proxies did you use, SSH or Website proxys?

I don't know if this will work for you, but it did for me. I used a betternet chrome extension, its the second website to appear when you look up 'betternet'. Betternet is shit for the most part, but I found it worked for me on school computers :D

The problem might be that there's a firewall, at your office, with a port white-list for common "web" ports such as 80 (HTTP), 443 (HTTPS) but any other.. uncommon ports are blocked. This was the case for me at my previous work-place and I had to find a work-around.
If what I said above is in-deed the case then I would advise you to find a VPN that allows you to connect to their endpoints with port 80/443 (such as IPVanish) and it should work just perfectly unless they have some kind of packet-analysis system installed, such as SNORT®, that allows them to filter packets based on content.

I highly doubt that they would block certain IP ranges that VPNs are known to operate on, as a user suggested above, because most of these VPNs are hosted in data-centers and the IT crew in the office would just shoot themselves in the leg if they would block data-center IP addresses because they might also happen to block 10k+ websites hosted in the same data-center.

Thanks for everyone for their posts in this thread. I will try to use these methods, if not I will get back to you all.
